Yeah, true, but that seems like an awful lot of coincidences, doesn't it? There were many more. I have a friend that was a Titanic buff long before it was fashionable, and I believe he said even the specs of the two ships were very close, including the fact that the rear smoke stack was just a dummy . I wish I had more specifics, but I don't. It just seems uncanny that the author of the Titan book hit it so close. It COULD just be a seires of coincidences, but the odds of that get smaller with each similarity between the two. Makes ya think... -John

Meanwhile, there were a few other books from that period that contained similar coincidences, and, if you read the book in question, you will find many things that don't match up. good point... when we compare things we tend to just look at the few things that make the comparison similar instead of contrasting the differences as well... in parrellel... when we think the government is conspiring to hide a secret, we tend to insist on a conspiracy more when the government tries to direct attention away from it; but the only reason they need to do this is because the public has brought attention to it in the first place. i know this is away from titanic theme of this post... but i think it's important to realize that we are simply wanting to believe what we want to beleave and we will find as much like evidence to back up our ideas, right or wrong, instead of contrasting all the evidence.

life that came true within a year - none of them good, none of them anything I thought possible at the time, all of them related to the same general area of my life. I suppose they all could have been coincidence, or just sub-conscious concerns coming to fruition, but they didn't feel that way. In all the cases, I had nothing to do with what happened. The outcomes always had to do with someone else's behavior (different every time) and not at all in character with the behavior that I was familiar with, though certainly not outside the realm of possibility. I'm not saying it wasn't coincidence, but it sure makes me wonder... Neen Fangz wrote in message <

t... It may SEEM like a bizarre series of coincidences to those looking back upon it but, to people of the time period, it was an inevitable coincidence...
