Guys This is just my opinion but a recall is one of the most extreme political measures any constituency can take. The City of Los Angeles has a population of approximately 15 million people.   This is the constituency that can recall the mayor. The Labor organizations that represent City of Los Angeles workers are a political group with vested interests in an amiable mayor. IBEW Local 18 would contribute millions of dollars to defeat any recall of the present mayor. There are many citizens of the City of Los Angeles who are anti union and anti City workers. The recall you propose would be self serving. The public would say, what's in it for me? We know what's in it for you.  Job security. But the average Joe is trying to survive in today's economy. A great deal of money, time and resources have to go into a recall. Timing.  We have time windows to address issues.   Is the recall before or after the windows open or close? Do you think whoever succeeded the incumbent will be better or worse? What guarantees do you have? I assure you, recall is an option that many have considered but I would not recommend that you play this card at this time. You're talking politics.   Tony has a lot of friends in politics and he is holding a lot of markers. We have a lot of fine minds working on our side in the leadership of the coalition. So, don't go running off and start collecting a lot of signatures with out crossing your t's, dotting your i's, and don't forget to check your p's and q's.   As in pints and quarts! Rafe
