Co-Director for Research Center for Behavioral Neuroscience Georgia State University Atlanta, Georgia       Georgia State University is engaged in a major expansion of its research and instructional programs in Behavioral Neuroscience as part of the NSF Science and Technology Center for Behavioral Neuroscience. Generous state and institutional funds along with $20 million dollars from the National Science Foundation have been committed to fund the Center for the first five years. The Center is a consortium of more than 80 neuroscientists from Georgia State University, Clark Atlanta University, Emory University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Morehouse College, Morehouse Medical School, Morris Brown College and Spelman College. The purpose of the Center is to foster interdisciplinary collaborative approaches towards understanding the basic neural mechanisms underlying the regulation of complex social behaviors and emotions. The Center is also designed to enhance K-12, undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral education, to bring research findings to the public, to encourage technology transfer to industry, and to increase the participation of women and minorities in neuroscience research. Georgia State University invites applications for the Co-Director for Research in The Center for Behavioral Neuroscience. The Co-Director for Research is responsible for the administration of the research program of the Center, which includes, but is not limited to, four interdisciplinary research groups focused on fear, affiliation, aggression and reproduction as well as six technology cores. The Co-Director coordinates the allocation of research funding in the Center and participates in the acquisition of new sources of extramural research support. The Co-Director plays a key role in facilitating collaborative research activities among all eight member institutions and works with the Director and Co-Directors for Education and Knowledge Transfer to integrate the Center's research, educational and science outreach activities. More information about the Center can be found at http://www.cbn-atl.org.       The successful candidate will be appointed as an Associate or Full Professor in the Department of Biology and/or the Department of Psychology.
