Summer's here, and I'd love to compile a list of experiments and activities for fun and learning with my children over the summer. Anyone care to offer any suggestions or web _link_s?  I'll start off. Thanks in advance. 1. Play with magnets.  See them attract and repel.  What around the house is magnetic (floppy disks?). 2. Grow stuff. 3. Make a helium baloon float in mid-air by attaching stuff to it. Then put it in a sunny window. 4. What weighs more, a cup of water or a cup of sand?  Confirm guess. 5. Play with pendulums.  What length give you a one-second period? What weight does? 6. Mix vinegar into baking soda.  Observe and describe.  Outside mix into a film canister and close lid. 7. Make a balance and move pivot point around to balance _object_s of different weights.  Guess location of pivot in advance. 8. Measure rainfall.  Use a cylindrical cup, and a cup with a wider mouth than _base_. 9. Make a sundial. 10.Mix colored water and oil in a bottle and play with it.
