biochemistry tutorial WARNING!! One of the ingredients in FNS may cause hairloss
I pretty much knew that FNS was snakeoil right away however while I didn't think it would do anything for hair loss I didn't think it could be harmful. But doing a little research (thanks to Farrel for leading me in this direction) on one of its ingredients it looks like it might not be a good idea to put this stuff on your head.   It is pretty well know that one of the possible reason Minoxidil grows hair is that it mimics nitric oxide(NO). So it could be concluded that NO is good for hair growth. And things that inhibit NO are of course bad for hair. In fact NO inhibitors are patented for reducing hair growth. http://www.drproctor.com/pat476.htm So the last thing you probably want to put on your head something that is a nitric oxide inhibitor. Unfortunately for you new FNS users one ingredient in FNS the tetrahydrocurcumin is a powerful nitric oxide inhibitor. (2 studies at the bottom) This is very critical if you are using Rogaine or any other Minoxidil product. Simply put FNS can cancel out some of the positive effects of Rogaine by removing some of the natural NO which would mean you would need more Minoxidil to cover that loss. Secondly this is where the lack of clinical trials of FNS comes into play. Did the original Piliel trials use tetrahydrocurcumin in it's formula? Tetrahydrocurcumin is most likely used in FNS as a preservative. And didn't Osmotics say they changed some of the original preservatives from the original formula? So after the formula change Osmotics could have unknowing (and most likely uncaringly) added a powerful hair growth suppressor to it's formula. Without a follow up study there is no way for them or us to know if this stuff will cause hair loss never mind any growth. Good F%#%ing luck to all of you who actually brought this stuff.     Comparative studies on the suppression of nitric oxide synthase by curcumin and its hydrogenated _meta_bolites through down-regulation of IkappaB kinase and NFkappaB activation in macrophages. Pan MH, Lin-Shiau SY, Lin JK. Institute of Biochemistry, College of Medicine, National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan. Nitric oxide (NO) plays an important role in inflammation and in the multiple stages of carcinogenesis. In this study, we investigated the inhibitory effects of curcumin and its _meta_bolites, tetrahydrocurcumin, hexahydrocurcumin, and octahydrocurcumin, on the induction of NO synthase (NOS) in RAW 264.7 cells activated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Western blotting and northern blotting analyses demonstrated that curcumin strongly reduced 130-kDa protein and 4.5-kb mRNA levels of iNOS in LPS-activated macrophages compared with its _meta_bolites, tetrahydrocurcumin, hexahydrocurcumin, and octahydrocurcumin. Moreover, electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA) experiments indicated that curcumin blocked the LPS-induced binding of nuclear factor-kappaB (NFkappa, a tran_script_ion factor necessary for iNOS induction to its (32)P-labeled double-stranded oligonucleotide probe. The inhibition of NFkappaB activation occurred through the prevention of inhibitor kappaB (Ikappa degradation. Transient transfection experiments also showed that curcumin inhibited NFkappaB-dependent tran_script_ional activity. Curcumin blocked the disappearance of inhibitory kappaBalpha (IkappaBalpha) and p65 from the cytosolic fraction, and inhibited the phosphorylation of IkappaBalpha. Furthermore, we showed that curcumin could inhibit the IkappaB kinase 1 (IKK1) and IkappaB kinase 2 (IKK2) activities induced by LPS, but tetrahydrocurcumin, hexahydrocurcumin, and octahydrocurcumin were less active. These results suggest that curcumin may exert its anti-inflammatory and anti-carcinogenic properties by suppressing the activation of NFkappaB through inhibition of IKK activity. PMID: 11077049 [PubMed - indexed for MEDLINE] Recent studies on the biofunctions and biotransformations of curcumin. Lin JK, Pan MH, Lin-Shiau SY. Institutes of Biochemistry, College of Medicine, National Taiwan University, Taipei. This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it Curcumin is a major component of Curcuma species, which is commonly used as a yellow coloring and flavoring agent in foods. Curcumin has shown anti-carcinogenic activity in animals as indicated by its ability to block colon tumor initiation by azoxymethane and skin tumor promotion induced by phorbol ester TPA. Curcumin possesses anti-inflammatory activity and is a potent inhibitor of reactive oxygen-generating enzymes such as lipoxygenase/cyclooxygenase, xanthine dehydrogenase/oxidase and inducible nitric oxide synthase. Curcumin is also a potent inhibitor of protein kinase C, EGF-receptor tyrosine kinase and IkappaB kinase. Subsequently, curcumin inhibits the activation of NFkappaB and the _expression_s of c-jun, c-fos, c-myc and iNOS. It is proposed that curcumin may suppress tumor promotion through blocking signal transduction pathways in the target cells. Curcumin was first biotransformed to dihydrocurcumin and tetrahydrocurcumin and that these compounds subsequently were converted to monoglucuronide conjugates. These results suggest that curcumin-glucuronide, dihydro-curcumin-glucuronide, tetrahydrocurcumin-glucuronide and tetrahydrocurcumin are major _meta_bolites of curcumin in mice. Age of an elephant

Age is related to the elephant teeth. Teeth of the elephant is six left www.cars-site.co.uk Reviews carfinance-offers.co.uk and six right-hand molars - but they do not grow simultaneously and successively. The front surface of the tooth, where clashes between crumbles, gradually fall off from it are small, thin plates and consequently the tooth decreases. Then in his place moves to the next tooth. The fourth tooth has used the elephant to complete the 20 - Up 25 years. Sixth tooth - the last, which is the size of bricks appear in the age of 45 years and his job is to serve the elephant for 20 years. Then the elephant becomes toothless. Due to the large (approximately 150 kg) required a daily ration of food, this situation does not end well - elephant dies quickly, since it is able to provide the body enough food.

Water-powered mobile phones on the market in 2010

Samsung Electro-Mechanics has developed a battery powered water into the cells. According to auto.motors-blog.co.uk Great reviews info.motorization4u.co.uk what we read on the Samsung, when incorporated into the cell, metal and water in the phone react, formed hydrogen. Gas flows into the cell, where he reacts with oxygen. New this so that other hydrogen cells need methanol to produce a Samsung device, only water. One micro-cell can produce three watts of power and as the Samsung is able to power the phone for Quebec Real Estate best.car-brands.co.uk chinese food 10 hours non-stop conversation. This with an average of four hours per day talks, hydrogen cartridge would have to be replaced every five days. Samsung engineers from laboratories are confident that they could simplify the procedure, reducing load the phone for occasional topping up the water. The first device on the market may already be there for two years.
