Dear fellow WGPS members: I have recently started a new project which is an online directory of therapists in Westchester; you can view it at: http://westchestertherapists.com. This directory will allow members to each have their own featured page on the website that will also easily be found on Google searches (very high in the rankings... most often they will be found on the first page of a Google search). Each therapist's featured page will include their name/address/tel, a photo of themselves, a blurb about their work, and hot _link_(s) to their e-mail (and website or blog if they have one). Additionally it includes a contact form that enables people viewing the page to e-mail their contact info directly to that therapist. Lastly, it includes a Google maps/direction _link_ that allows people visiting the page to type in their own zip code and get explicit directions to the therapists office, it is very cool! On the Directory Page that lists all the therapist (which includes _link_s to the therapist's individual page), there is also something called a site search (Google powered). What this does is enable the person visiting the website to do a search for therapists by name, location, age population served, areas of specialization, what insurance they take, or whatever the else the therapist deems important that they would like to feature. This site is similar to leading therapist directories (e.g. Psychology Today's Find a Therapist ), but WestchesterTherapists.com is far less expensive (PT charges about 5 x's as much). The incredibly low cost of joining WestchesterTherapists.com for only $60/yr (literally pennies a day) makes this service affordable to everyone. Also consider this; while Psychology Today has an excellent data_base_, they draw from thousands upon thousands of therapists from all across the country. WestchesterTherapists.com focuses exclusively on Westchester, which dramatically narrows and focuses the search to directly where you want it, right here in good old Westchester! Anyone doing a search online for a therapist in Westchester will therefore be much more easily led directly to you! If you already have a website this is still a worthwhile thing to do, as it will further increase your online exposure and also help boost your rankings in the search engines. If you are not yet on the Internet, here is your chance to have a online presence for an extraordinarily low price. Today, everyone needs to be online as this is where people turn more and more to find everything, including therapists.
