Training Nurses or Nurses aides, wouldn't really be Kerry's responsibility, would it?  Surely it would fall to the head nurse? ceindreadh In real life, nursing schools and vocational schools train nurses and aides. The majority of the initial training is done in a classroom.  For procedure, the students usually do vital signs on each other, practice drawing blood on one another, etc. before going out in the world.  Then, usually the nursing or vocational staff have  a faculty member right at the clinical site who does most of the teaching during the clinical rotations.  Once the student learns some of the basics about how the unit works, he/she may be assigned to help another nurse or aide who will critique their work.  These days, floor nurses don't have a minute to catch their breath, let alone train the next generation.  As for how it works on ER, all bets are off there.  What we saw last week resembles nothing I've ever seen in more than 20 years as student, resident or attending.
