visual psychology Brain Workshop - New Ideas
The following is a list of new ideas that I think may possibly be a benefit to the Brain Workshop program. If anyone has any criticism pos/neg please express yourself. I really encourage this because I have not elaborated to a large extent because I want to read the whole post. 1.  Instead of rehearsing the information in the order in which it was presented an extra option could instead allow the user to rehearse the information backwards. To stretch this idea one could implement a personalised rule system in which the user could modify the way he/she wishes to recall the information. Example 1:  2-1 = 1back, 4-2 = 2back Example 2: A+C = 4 back, E-B = 3 back Why? - using our executive functions more which are central to working memory. I think it this option may more closely resemble the main concept of working memory,   monitoring or manipulation of information . 2. This idea was gleaned from the work of cognitivefun.net . Adding an option that allows users to personalise their brain workshop recall list would be an immensely handy tool. Being able to include and change sound and visual stimuli would make the exercise so much more intriguing because we are then able to silence the fear of just activating our crystallised detail of the dual-n-back task. I think the moral of all new implementations/ideas need to have a heavy weight on complex manipulation principles as opposed to just simplified recall patterns. I want to understand and manipulate my perceptual experiences not just recall them in a precise fashion. I want to know what happens before I throw water or fire at an experience not just remember what happened when I did so. I think this quotation is a slightly extreme point of view and does not shed light on current positive consequences of the dual-n-back task, but I think I made my point lol. Please share your thoughts even if you think these ideas are idiotic.
