the wild Anybody ever levelled a pin in the wild?
Was playing NASCAR at the nascar restaurant in citywalk Orlando. It's so badly levelled that the ball curves down the playfield and heads towards the right flipper. I looked at the levelers on the legs and there was plenty of room for correction. Thought about doing it for the pin community, but then decided it wasn't my right or business, etc. If somebody has bigger nuts, go fix that thing!!

Done it several times on location pins where the locknuts were loose. No big deal. If someone would say something (never happened). I'd stop. If they threaten me with legal action, I'd say bring it on. Take me court etc.

great question, and at the cost of feeling a little bit foolish, YES i will because I'm paying for the game (and at the very high chance the game works like crap from never being shopped) and I'm all set with the ball favoring an outlane because the game is standing high to one side. Disney World comes to mind, PIRATES of the carribean at space mountain arcade, i took one of the park maps, folded it, put it under the leg and enjoyed my games!

If there's not much traffic in the area and the floor is reasonably clean, hell yeah. Playing a clean 100% working game that's listing badly in either direction is the location p_layer_s nightmare. Must be fixed. Either get somebody to fix it, or take matters into your own hands. -phish

Guilty as charged. I've lowered the playfield angle on aggressively set machines and changed the right to left angle on drain-monsters to alter certain shots. In my younger days, I placed ashtrays under the front legs. I've also fixed the angles on more games than I can count (from poor operator set up). I've never used a wrench in the field, but if the nuts are not tight, I'm going to make the game play the best I can. Frank -

When we go pinball camping I've leveled games in the dirt, at 10,000 feet+, on 2 x 4's, under the trees, on firewood, and next to the river.(all at once) That's leveling in the wild to me. As for other peoples machines on location, no. I operate machines myself, and if other ops can't level their own games, maybe people will appreciate mine more because they are level and working. -DNO-
