You are absolutely correct, we don’t seem to get it………We (The UK) should get it better then the Yanks because of our previous history. Civilisations succeed by beliefs and philosophies…….No matter how formidable the military might of any nation is, unless its people have faith a code and a belief in themselves, they will “decline and fall”. Islam captures the minds and hearts of its members, to a degree that we can no longer comprehend……..We seem to believe that money can buy whatever we want…………The Muslims do not necessarily think this way……If many of them are willing to give their lives, as suicide bombers, to their cause, how can the west’s leaders believe that they can buy their  acquiescence with “thirty pieces of silver”. If our leaders,  are all thinking, in a “Merchant Of Venice Way”, we have no chance and Islam will win in the end. No matter how much filthy-lucre is poured into the pockets of the Afghani’s, they will still keep fighting for Allah, if their  Mullahs preach that their fight is a  holy war. They will take our money, chuckle
