Name: AE Age: 15 Sex: Female Resident of Belize Student in High school, 9th grade. Ethnicity: mother is Latin American, father is caucasian. 15 year old female with history of pain to lower back and lower limbs since six days ago.  Pain is persistent, increasing in intensity, and shifting from thighs, legs, feet to upper limbs, especially hands and forearms. Pain has now shifted to thorax. Pain also intensifies during breathing, especially during inspiration. Patient has not had any fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, no weakness or paralysis. Hyperreflexia to knee-reflex only significant sign.  NSAIDs did not take away the pain. Meperidine 50mg i.m. was administered giving the patient temporary relief only. Presently she is hospitalized and is being adminstered with morphine 10mg i.v. for pain. Two months ago patient was diagnosed with right hemorrhaegic cysts and was given a progesterone injection which induced bleeding for more than two weeks with a ten day interruption of menses which has returned to present day. Two weeks ago patient suffered from an upper respiratory tract infection which was treated with phensydil 10cc P.O. every six hours. Cold and cough improved. The following tests have all been returned as normal:         Haemotology, urinanalysis, chemistries, chest x-ray, electromiogram, Significant results:         ASTO 800, CPK = 1700 Patient is currently hospitalized at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. The following specialists are presently investigating the case so far to no avail: Pediatric neurologist, haemotologist, endocrinologist, orthopaedic surgeon, internist.
