Could Nirvana evolve into something close to the New Beatles? Maybe a new Plastic Ono Band? Certainly the main stregth of Nivana is dead. The Voice, The songwriter and inspirator. Curt Cobain. The tortured soul that made a mark and changed Rock again in the 90's. They currently have a Top Lp. So does Elvis. Could Curt have pulled through and gone beyond his pattern of writing to make a brilliant album past Nevermind? We'll never know. These are the ideas that Icons are built upon. This soul that had such a promising future to take his own life with gunshot leaving us with a few good songs is now bigger than life. The new James Dean. Dean did much the same. Made 3 good movies before an untimely death. Rebel without a cause could be Curt. For what did  Generation X have to scream about? Great economy, No war, No strife. Somehow this man touched a nerve much like his own idol before him - Lennon. Yet John had something to rebel against. Had much indeed. Only those of us that lived the baby boom generations know far too well. Curt was much from the same Generation as Dean. Had the killer looks and same basic appeal.  Niether really had a basis for complaint. Yet they felt misunderstood. In Curt, he seemed tortured by being what he worked so hard for - Being a Rock Star. His suicide note states this as his reason for ending it all. God knows it was a selfish act. Leaving behind a small child that would never know her father. But it had to be an excuse. Something else drove him to the edge. Seems the more tortured the soul the deeper it falls and the harder to understand. McCartney recently stated Nirvana as heir to the Beatles had he survived.
