Oversees and coordinates the activities of a team of certified boiler tender and general maintenance workers engaged in the operation and maintenance of boiler fires. DUTIES: Essential Functions: 1. Perform duties and responsibilities that are common to most supervisory personnel per the attachmentGENERAL SUPERVISORY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. 2. As the Licensed Operator of Record, oversees the plant tenders who regulate steam or high temperature boilers. 3. Operates and maintains plant in accordance with Regulations of the District of Columbia and/or State of Maryland operating codes. 4. Completes and forwards all required Critical System Reports to the Regulatory Agencies. 5. Coordinate mandatory systems readings through the installation and performs periodic usage. 6. Reviews usage log to proactively address any maintenance and repair issues to prevent installation shut-down. 7. Develops preventive maintenance schedule for seasonal shut-downs and start-ups. 8. Overseas the installation, maintenance, and repairs of steam lines or hoses, screens, filters, valves, and pumps. 9. Supervises the installation, repairs, and maintenance of all types of plumbing fixtures and components in both temporary- and permanent-type facilities. 10. Monitors construction schedules and activities to ensure the integrity of boiler and steam systems. 11. Conduct scheduled and unscheduled quality control inspections as defined by the Quality Control Plan. 12. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of boiler plant and steam operation regulations, and standards. 13. Maintains a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems. Marginal Functions: 1. Performs other related duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM DESIRED Education Bachelor degree with major related to job duties or equivalent experience. Experience 5-7 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Skills Knowledge of computers and related software applications. Knowledge of local, state and federal codes and ordinances pertinent to water and waste. Effective oral and written communication skills.
