salmonella typhi typhoid salmonella in horses
Hi... I have been trying to research on the net any case studies on typhoid salmonella in horses... I have not been able to find any so I am hoping that someone here may be able to help me. foal at age of 4 months gets typhoid salmonella from drinking water that runs off a chicken farm. very ill for a long time... very low protein levels blood transfusions every day etc... manages to survive... This foal is now a yearling and since its illness has constantly had leg trouble... particularly in the hind legs. fine one week... sore as anything the next week... it also swaps legs. I guess my question is... does anyone know about the longer term affects of having this? Could the soreness in the legs be from the salmonella still? Will it go away? Do you know of others who have been through the same thing with leg soreness.. if so how did it end up? Are there other complications I should be looking for? Any info would be great... if anyone has any case studies the can give me the address of or perhaps email to me. If this is not the right place to be posting this question could you please recommend another place I could post it. Thanks Kristin
