MedAssurant is currently seeking a Information Systems Security Engineer to continue building and maintaining state of the art IT security. Location: Bowie, Maryland Responsibilities: Perform annual and ad hoc network and security audits consistent with corporate policies and procedures. Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of security systems. Monitoring the security devices for alerts, notifications, and other significant messages. If necessary, escalating to Senior Manager for action. Leading efforts to demonstrate that MedAssurant information systems are compliant with appropriate corporate policies, industry standards, government regulations, and contractual requirements. Assist in establishing an effective Security Awareness and Training Program. Maintain existing capabilities, make recommendations and implement appropriate up to date security technologies such as firewalls, encryption, anti-virus software etc. as needed. Stay abreast of the latest thinking, technologies, and security literature. Ensure the integrity of host computers, multiple data_base_s and secure data transfer. Provide guidance to junior members of the team. Job Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree in a Computer related program. 3 - 5 years of progressive experience supporting information technology projects related to information and computer security. Knowledge of applicable HIPAA, SAS70, CoBIT, SOX, NIST, CIS, and data privacy practices and laws. Strong leadership skills and excellent cross functional relationship building skills. Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills, highly self motivated and directed, keen attention to detail. Strong knowledge of current landscape and future trends in information security, compliance, and risk management. Theoretical knowledge of and practical experience with various Internet protocols (e.g., DNS, SMTP, HTTP, SSL). Certifications a plus.
